One of the main techniques to improve the profile of your company’s website on the internet and search engines is to improve the link profile of your website. The number of back-links to your website from other related websites and web pages is one of the most important factors for ranking higher on search engines like Google.

Search engine optimisation and Internet marketing experts use a number of methods to improve back-links to a website. Commenting on blog posts related to your niche, is one such method to generate quality one way links to your website. Participating and contributing to discussions can be time consuming. It is thus important to ensure you receive the maximum SEO benefits as a result of your participation. This can be achieved by participating/commenting on do-follow blogs.

Do-follow blogs are blogs where your comment links are counted and indexed by search engines. Some blogs use a special “no-follow” tag in their comments that prevents search engines from indexing your links. As a result your links are not counted by search engines and there is minimum impact on your search engine ranking.

On the contrary, Do-follow blogs are blogs do not prevent search engines from following the links in your comment and they contribute towards the link profile and page rank of your website. You thus receive the maximum SEO benefits by participating on these blogs.

Thanks, that was very helpful. I’ve just made my blog do-follow as a result of reading this.

I think a lot of blogs still use the nofollow attribute. Which saddens me. I mean honestly, if you want users to engage in conversation on their website, GIVE THEM a reason to. Don’t be greedy.

I like the article, I have a great one that talks about the “No Follow” value at my blog http://tinyurl.com/389xk3n or it was also published by Ezine http://tinyurl.com/2wtr2zk

This is a good article. One question though, when you say “do follow blogs” do you mean when you can put a link to your website when you leave a comment?

There are things I am still trying to understand. Always learning something new.

Good Site. Saw this post talking about dofollow and thought you would like to know about a new site, Wiki Dofollow. It is a community compiled list of high ranking dofollow sites. That way, the list stays current.

If you want, be one of the first to blog about it. I am sure you know how difficult it is getting visitors to a new site. Your help would be greatly appreciated!

    thanks.

Debbie, I am glad you find my article useful. In response to your question….most blogs display the commentator’s link. However on Do follow blogs, the link of the commentator does not have a “no-follow” attribute in the code. On the front, both do-follow and no-follow links appear the same. You can see it in the code however.

i think no follow blog commenting may also be useful when it is coming from a site having high traffic. there are lots of plugins available in mozilla which help us to find do follow blog list for commenting. you can also use software for this purpose. Comment Kahuna and Do follow Diver are example of few of them.

Comment on Dofollow blogs instead of Nofollow ones. The more approved comments you get from dofollow blog the more backlinks you get. Plus great traffic from your site that eventually will turn into cash.

Commenting on blog has become such a norm that Google pays less and less attention to those. Nevertheless, do-follow and no-follow blogs are still a good place to market your site/business and should be part of your strategy.
