You have rightly pointed out the backlink benfit of free Classified sites. But I think one should do this with care and excercise caution. There is nothing wrong in posting the occasional ad with back link but doing it constantly on the same site to attract multiple links from the same site will not be that beneficial and can be treated as spam.
