Search engine optimisation is the process of improving the online visibility of your website on search engines with the primary objective of getting more visitors to your website. Search engine optimisation is a highly targeted form of advertising.

One of the key objectives of any search engine optimisation campaign is to display your website on the first page of search engines like Google when a user searches for a product or service that your business provides. 4 out of 5 internet users use search engines to find what they are looking for. If your website ranks on the first page, the chances of users visiting your website are high. On the other hand if your website does not rank in the top 15 results then the chance are almost nil.

This is not sue to hype but the need is driven purely by market factors and changes in consumer behaviour patterns. More and more users are relying on search engines to find what thy are looking for and this trend is only set to grow further.
