Steady Rise In Online Marketing By Companies

15 November 2008 No Comment

Established companies as well as small companies are using online marketing effectively to remain competitive.

Online marketing in general and particularly search engine marketing is growing steadily in spite of the downturn in global economy. The expenditure on traditional forms of advertising is on the decline as companies cut their marketing budget. However there is significant shift from traditional forms of advertising to online marketing.

In a recent study of UK businesses almost 90% of businesses surveyed said that they would be increasing the expenditure on online marketing activities in the coming year. While almost the same percentage of businesses surveyed also said that their overall marketing expenditure would reduce in the coming year. One of the main reasons online marketing has continued to rise is due to this shift in marketing expenditure by businesses.

Another reason hat has contributed to the rise in online marketing is the increased awareness among smaller businesses. More and smaller businesses are spending on search engine marketing and other forms of online marketing. Smaller companies today realise the potential of online marketing to the success of their business. Online marketing today forms a key element of most business models not only for larger established businesses. Companies small or large are using the interne to reduce operating costs and also to reach out a wider client base.

Email marketing is another area of online marketing that is being used increasingly by businesses. As consumer behaviour has changed in recent years and the reach of email marketing increase, it has become more effective and viable for a wide range of businesses.

Online marketing has become the marketing tool of choice especially during the volatile economic conditions of today. It offers lower risks as it is much more cost effective than traditional marketing methods.
