Website Content – How to write articles frequently?
Writing new articles on your website frequently is important if you are interested in boosting traffic to your company’s website or want to make money online. Web Design and Internet Marketing experts often advise on the importance of frequently writing new articles on your website.
I work for a web design company in London and we rely intensively on search engines to get new customers. Writing new articles frequently on our company’s website and blog is an integral part of our SEO strategy. In order to maintain our first page rank on Google, it is important for us to write at least one new article on our website every day.
Professional bloggers write 3 to 5 articles in a single day. When I first started writing articles for my website, it would take me days to write an article. I have since developed a quicker method to manage my time. I follow certain steps that allow me to write articles more frequently than before. I am confident that other website owners and Blog editors who publish content frequently follow a similar approach. I have been following this method for more than a year now and it works well for me. I would like to share the tips that allow me to publish new content on my website frequently.
Tips to write articles for website or blog frequently:
1) Maintain a List of Topics
Whenever you find a topic worth covering for your website or blog, you should list it down. I maintain my list in a standard word file where I maintain a simple list of topics on which I intend to write articles. This is a good starting point and also allows me to keep track of work at hand. Whenever I come across a topic that my readers will find useful, I simply include it in my list.
2) Cover multiple articles at the same time
If you maintain a list of article topics or titles, you will find it easy to take notes and expand the content. I visit my list from time to time and write short notes for more than 1 topic at a time. It works better for me if I cover multiple topics at the same time as opposed to attending to one article at a time. This is particularly helpful if you intend to publish new content on a daily or regular basis. It allows me to build content for multiple topics as the same time.
3) Refine the list of topics based on ongoing research and findings
I update my current list of topics from time to time. As I am researching information to include in my articles, I may find another point of view more suitable to write about. Accordingly I may modify the list of topics I am writing about. Sometime If I realise that a particular point of view will be difficult to cover, I amend my titles accordingly.
4) Know that you don’t have to complete an article the same day
At times I find it difficult to cover a topic in a single day. This may be due to various reasons. It could be due to pressure of ongoing projects or temporary mental block. If you use the approach of covering multiple topics at the same time, then it is easy to move on to the next topic if you are not making much progress on one. This way although you end up spending more than a day, the frequency with you publish articles on your website or blog may not be effected.
5) Use Short Notes and bullet points when researching articles
Bullet points are not only useful in the finished version of the articles but equally useful for taking notes while researching topics. I usually start an article by taking short notes or bullet points on the topic I wish to cover in my article. I can do this for multiple topics simultaneously as I start first by simply listing down my ideas. I can then easily expand on my notes via ongoing research either conducted online or via other sources. Using short notes and bullet points allows me to build content as I go along.
6) Revisit your draft
Avoid publishing your article immediately after writing it. After you have written an article you should come back and review it later. When I revisit my articles the next day, I am able to spot opportunities that I would not have noticed otherwise. if I had written the article in single day. Revisiting a draft article with a fresh mind often leads to better quality articles and prevents mental block that can be hit when spending too much time on an article in a single day.
7) Automate your submission
Last but not the least; you should spend time in writing articles rather than submitting them. Publishing content on your website or blog is easy. However in order to maximise the benefits, you should also publish your articles on all leading article directories and websites. There are many article submission software that assist with submissions. Some are even fully automated. I personally prefer a semi automated approach. I use Article Submitter Platinum which offers manual, semi-automated as well as fully automated submissions. Article Submitter allows me to focus entirely on writing new content as opposed to spending time on submitting it to article directories.
