Many publishers forget to look beyond regular text based content on their website. Like videos, podcasts can be a great way to create content for your website or blog. They are very easy to record and can be done using any standard desktop. You can also use free services such as PodoMatic to convert existing blog posts into podcasts. For best results, you can publish podcasts on your website as well as promote them via various specialist podcast sites.
22. Monitor Trending Topics
Writing about latest trends and hot topics from your industry is a great way to create viral content. Trending hashtags on Twitter or using other free trending services are some effective ways to keep track of trending topics in your niche.
23. Surveys & Polls
Surveys and polls are a great way to create content. You can use free tools such as Google docs to create one and publish it on your website to collect data from visitors. Although the poll in itself is content for your website, you can create a post around the results for best results. Such posts tend to be popular.
24. Profile a Business or Personality
You can profile a senior member of your team, an interesting personality from your niche or an established business from your industry. Profile posts typically provide a background on the person; their accomplishments and talks about their journey to reach their current position. they are in and write about the characteristics that they have that others in your niche might like to develop to be successful.

There are many events hosted both locally and in other cities covering most industries. You can easily research events related to your industry and write about them in your blog posts. Even if you do not attend the event, you can colllect information from a variety of sources and websites.

Visit Q/A sites to research common questions related to your niche. LinkedIn Answers, Quora, Yahoo Answers and Focus Q & A are some examples of such sites you can visit for topics related to your niche.

Articles about making money, investments, savings, etc. are very popular. E.g. “Websites Earning Millions Using Google Adsense” and “Ten Money Making Blogs” are some of the most popular articles on this blog. No matter what your niche, you can find topics relevant topics such as how to save money or increase revenue using one of your services, and so on.
28. Use Google Reader to Get Ideas & Inspiration from Other Publishers
One of the best ways to get inspired and find new topics for creating content is to analyse and learn from other publishers in your industry.
